Introduction
Anything the user types or clicks into the browser while Web Performance
Trainer is recording can be replaced at runtime. For example,
if your business case is for making an online purchase. The selection
of what product has been changed can be modified at runtime, so
that each virtual user can purchase a separate product. Because
each virtual user repeats the business case, every time the business
case repeats a separate product could be purchased. The program
supports multiple series of data values, each with a unique name.
This enables you to import a separate series of data values for
each field you wish to replace.
For information on how to use the data once its in the system, please refer to
URL Parameter Replacement
and Form Data Replacement.
Importing Form Data
In Web Performance TrainerTM, the actual values that are used as
replacements is known as "Form Data". Select File->Import->Form
Data to import data from a text file into Web Performance TrainerTM.
You will be prompted to select an input file, and then brings
up the following dialog:

The delimiter option allows the data in the file to be separated by a variety
of methods, including tabs, new lines, and spaces. The Series Name specifieds how the series will appear in the
program after it has been imported.
Viewing Form Data
Any group of form data values can be viewed using the Tools->View Form Data option. This will bring up the following
dialog:

To view the values in a particular series, click on the name of the series in
the list on the left. The values for the series will appear in the list on the right. Clicking the delete button
while viewing a series will delete that series. Clicking the OK button will remove the data series from memory,
while selecting the Cancel button will undo any changes you have made. As with other parts of the program, the
changes you make here will not be saved to disk until you execute File->Save.
Generating Form Data
As a shortcut, there is a menu option Tools->Form Data Generator that will generate a series of random values.
The values are not stored in the program until you click the OK button.
