File handling in Web Performance TrainerTM is
conceptually similar to other file-based programs such as Microsoft Word.
You can create, edit and run load tests, but until you save the changes
to file, any data you have recorded or entered will be lost when you exit.
The file extension the program uses is ".wpt",
which will allow you to distinguish files meant for Web Performance TrainerTM from other files in your directories.
The WPT file contains your business cases, load profiles, test results
and graphs. Keeping all of the data in a single file means you don't have
to manage multiple files for all of the different data types.
The File Menu
The File Menu, along with the related buttons on the button bar, contains
functions required to manage files in Web Performance TrainerTM.
It has the following features:

Purpose
New
Reset the program and closes the current file. If you have changed the
current file, it will first prompt you to save the changes before deleting
the data from memory.
Open
Open saved test data from a .wpt file.
Close
Close the currently open file, allowing the user to open another file.
Save
Save the current test data into the current open file. If there is no
file open, the user will be selected to choose a file name.
Save As
Save the current test data into a new file.
Import->Business Cases
Import business cases from another WPT file. You will be prompted to
select a file ending in ".wpt". All of the business cases in
the selected file will be imported into the current file.
Import->Form Data
Imports a file containing data values for use in data
replacement.
Quit
Exit the program. If the current file has been changed, you will be
prompted to save the data before exiting.
